The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon will host its annual fund raiser on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at St. Clair Country Club, 2300 Old Washington Rd., Upper St. Clair, from 6:00-9:00 pm. There will be a buffet dinner with stations, an open bar, raffle, and silent auction with favorite items of personal genealogy studies and a week in a vacation home in Folly Beach, Charleston. The speaker will be Marie Benedict a local author who is raising national interest with her historical fiction.

Marie Benedict“Miss Benedict is a graduate of Boston College and the Boston University School of Law. She has more than ten years’ experience as a litigator at two of the country’s premier law firms. While practicing law she dreamed of unearthing the hidden historical stories of women and finally found it when she tried her hand at writing. She embarked on a new series of historical novels with The Other Einstein, which tells the tale Albert Einstein’s first wife, a physicist herself, and the role she might have played in his theories. Her next novel is the USA Today bestselling Carnegie’s Maid—which was released in January 2018—and the book that followed is the New York Times bestseller The Only Woman in the Room, published in January 2019. Lady Clementine will be released in 2020. Writing as Heather Terrell, Marie also published the historical novels The Chrysalis, The Map Thief, and Brigid of Kildare.”
